44% of pupils journeyed to and from school on bikes, scooters or walking – a total of 3235 recorded journeys over 10 days! This placed our school in 648th position out of the 2299 schools who took part nationally.
Sustrans Big Pedal is the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking and scooting challenge inspiring pupils, staff and parents to choose human power for their journey to school. For the first time this year, walking was counted alongside cycling and scooting.
Sustrans Big Pedal ran for 10 days from 25 March to 5 April 2019 and was open to all primary and secondary schools in the UK, including SEN schools.
We are now all inspired to continue to try to leave the car at home and, whenever possible, cycle, scoot or walk to school, waking us up for a day of fun and learning!
