Art

A key aim of our art curriculum is to provide children with opportunities to express themselves and communicate creatively, whilst also contributing to the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of the child.

  • Children will be taught Art and Design in a way that ensures progression of knowledge and skills and follows a sequence to build on previous learning.
  • Children will gain experience and skills of a wide range of formal elements of art
  • Children will use Art and Design across a range of subjects, enabling them to be creative and solve problems.

Children will leave Childwall Church of England Primary School having explored the work and styles of a vast variety of artists, craft makers and designers.  Children are provided with opportunities to experience Art and Design within other curriculum areas, utilising their artistic skills whilst enhancing their learning within other subjects. In Art and Design, Childwall C of E provides children with enriching, positive learning environments where children are encouraged to view mistakes as learning opportunities whilst promoting creativity, enjoyment and personal growth.
