Admissions to our voluntary aided is determined by the Governing Body of Childwall Church of England Primary School.
For the new Reception intake each year we have agreed to follow the co-ordinated admission arrangements and equal preference scheme determined by the Local Authority. All admissions will be agreed by our Governing Body. We require parents/ guardians to complete a school Application Form, as well as placing the school as a preference on the online application or preference form issued by Children and Young People’s Service. You must complete both forms.
The school Pupil Admission Number (PAN) is 60 (two classes per year group).
Reception 2020 Open Day
3rd December 2019: 2-3pm
Is your child due to start school in September 2020? You will soon be required to submit your school preferences to the Local Authority, and if you wish to name Childwall CE Primary school as one of you preferences, you will also be required to complete a school application form.
We appreciate this is big decision for you, as parents, to make. To support you in this process, we are holding an open day session where you can come into school and see if this is the right school for your family. After a welcome from Mrs Mason, Headteacher, our Y6 children will show you around and answer (honestly) any questions you may have. We will explain the application process and answer any admission queries you may have.
We appreciate that childcare may be difficult, but we would ask that young children are not brought as this can be quite disruptive for you and other parents.
There is no need to book onto a session, just pop into school at one of the allocated times. We look forward to welcoming you.
Applications for an In Year Transfer
An In Year Transfer is when parents or carers apply to transfer their child from one primary school to another primary school during the school year.
A completed application will be considered by the Admissions Committee of the Governing Body and the outcome of the application and the right to appeal will be given to parents in writing.
If the year group is full applicants will usually be refused admission and if parents/ carers wish, their child's name added to the waiting list. The waiting list is maintained by the Admissions Committee of the Governing Body.
If there are more applicants for places than there are places in a year group, the schools admission policy will be used to decide which children are admitted.
Under the provisions of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, as amended by subsequent government legislation, if your child is refused admission to your preferred school(s) you have the right to appeal against the decision to an independent appeal panel.
If Childwall Church of England Primary School is over-subscribed and if you wish to appeal against the decision not to admit your child the following arrangements apply:
A written request using the Admission Appeal Form (available from the school), addressed to The Clerk to the Governors and marked ‘Admission Appeal’, should be made as soon as possible after receiving notification of the result of the application, but before the deadline of 18th May 2020 for a Reception place in September 2020.
National Offer Day - 16th April 2020
Appeal Deadline - 18th May 2020
