PTFA Summer Fair 27th June 2015
We are still desperately short of volunteers for setting up on Friday night and Saturday morning, manning the stalls and clearing up afterwards. We would appreciate any help you can give. You don’t have to commit to the whole day, even just an hour would be greatly appreciated. If you can help, please contact us via email (email@example.com) or call or text us on our new PTFA number 07902 107149.
We also need to beg or borrow:
Old-fashioned wooden deck chairs to give a seaside feel to the café
Wooden/hard balls suitable for a coconut shy
Old Gift Bags
PTFA Summer Fair 27th June 2015
Our school Summer Fayre will be held this year on Saturday 27 June. It will be officially opened at 1pm by both Mrs Shaw and Mrs Buckton, our new Head Teacher. This year we have a seaside theme, with donkeys, Punch & Judy, coconut shy, bouncy castle, a beach side café, sand pit and much, much more.
We have some amazing raffle prizes, including £100 cash and vouchers for a flight simulator, meals at Neighbourhood, Panoramic, Eton Place and Khalisa, hairdressers Rebecca Louise and Bubbles, Marks & Spencer and many more.
Tickets will shortly be sent home in school bags (two books per family, value £5, or 50p each). Please return your tickets, stubs and money to the school office in an envelope marked “Raffle” by Friday 26 June at the latest. If you are able to sell any more, we would be very grateful. Further books are available from the office.
Mrs Shaw has kindly agreed that Friday 26th June will be a non-uniform day in exchange for a donation of bottles/ chocolates/ toiletries for our tombolas, and good condition second hand toys and books. We also need donations for our cake and plant stalls, although we ask that these are not brought in until Saturday if possible, or if not Friday afternoon. There will be a trolley outside the school gates to collect donations every day next week.
See you at the Fair. Don’t forget your bucket and spade and knotted handkerchief!
Love from all on the PTFA committee
Saturday 18th October 2014 - School Playground and Field Volunteer Event
An invitation has been sent out through members of last year’s PTFA, to come along on Saturday 18th October between 11:00am and 3:00pm and help improve various areas of the school playground and field. This will involve planting, spreading some wood bark, possibly some painting etc. The cost of this has been negotiated through school, Ms Bowers one of our parents and the funds raised at last term’s “Summer Fair”. These activities will enhance the outside areas and benefit all the children whichever class or year group they are in. Please bring a packed lunch and any gardening tools you may have.
The PTFA are planning on holding the following events this term:
£3.00 per child which will include drinks and snacks. Cakes will also be on sale at 50p each. Children will be taken straight from class to the film event. Pick up approx. 5.15pm (to be confirmed).
This popular annual event is a great way for parents of children in Reception to get to know each other. Friday 28th November 2014 at Childwall Abbey Pub. Tickets are £10.00 per person which includes a buffet and glass of wine and are available from Helen Rushton or the school office before 21st November 2014.
A regular stall outside of school will sell home made cakes. All support in the making and buying will be gratefully appreciated. The next sale will take place on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th November 2014 at 3.30pm.
The event will be a lovely family evening and includes a Grotto; Stalls and Carol Singing by the School Choir.
Former PTFA Chair, Sarah Harvey-Dunbavin, is organising a trip to the pantomime to see rock and roll Little Red Riding Hood. Leaflets will be put in school bags in the coming weeks.
