Class 8

Welcome to Class 8!

This year Miss O' Sullivan is our teacher and we are very lucky to have Mrs. Woods and Mrs. Butchard working with us during the week too!

Spring 1

This half-term we will be moving on to the Bronze and Iron Age after learning about the Stone Age. In Maths we will be focusing on fractions and measurement and in English we will be reading The Iron Man and basing our writing lessons around this. Our Science topic will be light and in RE we will be focusing on change and the way Jesus changed lives. The artist we will be learning about in Spring 1 is Claude Monet and in PSHE and P4C we will be exploring the different types of families, ways we resolve conflict and challenging stereotypes and prejudice.

One piece of written work per week or a piece set from the ‘My Maths’ website.

Regular learning of tables is essential. There will usually be a times tables test once a fortnight (on a Friday).

Regular reading at home

A spellings list to be learned weekly, the test will be on a Friday

A piece of written work or work on SPAG will be set fortnightly.

Homework will be set on a Friday and will need to be completed for the following Wednesday (spellings and times tables will be tested on a Friday). The children will bring their spellings home in a small, red book.

Friday 19th January
